to mark the tenth anniversary of the death of Father Pasquale Corsini
On 30 October 2010, the Parish of Villa San Giovanni Piale hosted His Excellency Monsignor Vittorio Mondello, Archbishop of Reggio Calabria-Bova, who has celebrated Mass in memory of Father Pasquale Corsini, beloved pastor of the community pialese. Monsignor Mondello wanted in this way to pay tribute to the priest Somasco, on the occasion of the tenth year after his death.
In a church full of faithful, His Excellency pointed out in his homily, the wisdom and goodness of the Father Corsini, a shining example of Christian virtues, the very year which marks the Year of Jubilee for Priests. And in fact
compared him to St. John Vianney, curto of Ars, patron of pastors throughout the world. This saint was sent in the first half of the nineteenth century, in a village of less than three hundred inhabitants, and remained here throughout his life, devoting every moment of the day off to the faithful and the growth of the community, celebrating Mass, praying and supporting anyone needed.
